Independence Excavating was contracted to perform the complete reconstruction of Taxiway E. 

Our scope consisted of the complete demolition of the existing concrete pavement and sub-structure of Taxiway E and replacement with 19,300 SY of new 5” P-306 lean concrete base pavement and 18,000 SY new 16” P-501 PCCP. Construction of new 20’ paved asphalt shoulders, replacing or reusing taxiway edge and/or in-pavement lights, and installation of new or re-positioning of existing taxiway signs.

Other elements of the work include miscellaneous storm pipe and 6000 LF of new underdrain, 18,000 CY of unclassified excavation, 28,000 SY of 12” cement treated subgrade, turf restoration, and pavement markings.
