Talent/Recruitment Specialist

Specific responsibilities include:

Manage the Talent Acquisition process for the Company:

  • Ensure talent acquisition process is deployed in support of recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Structure each recruitment effort as a collaborative project to ensure all HR and hiring managers are aligned in identifying hiring need, ideal candidate profile, and strategy
  • Enhance Company brand awareness and reputation in the talent marketplace both internally and externally
  • Directly manage all recruitment activities within budget and timeframe expectations

Support the Talent Development process for the Company:

  • Assist with the internal succession planning and talent review process in partnership with Company Executive and HR teams; identify talent gaps, provide information on internal candidate depth, recommend internal candidates when vacancies occur, and/or lead external talent acquisition as needed. 
  • Directly manage internal job openings/postings to ensure maximization of advancement opportunities and succession planning
  • Support business unit individual growth plans by developing internal and external talent pipelines

Support the Training and Development Program for the Company:

  • Research, develop, organize, and maintain training materials for Independence Excavating Training Program including custom and outsourced courses.
  • Maximizes the use of internal and external subject matter experts to make training both educational and enjoyable.
  • Recommend method for delivery such as instructor led, eLearning, blended, or other media taking into account audience, business needs, and requirements.
  • Revise current learning assessments and training evaluations, and manage necessary updates.
  • Conduct weekly training on basic technology, safety awareness and policies as part of the Onboarding process.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, or related field, or have substantially equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a talent acquisition or sourcing role preferably in a multi-site, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Experience sourcing hard to find, technical-oriented candidates by using direct sourcing, database mining, social media, networking, university relations, industry associations, and cold calling.
  • Advanced knowledge of recruiting components including sourcing, assessing, applicant tracking, pre- and post- employment offer process, and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement tools such as stay and exit surveys, onboarding, and other talent management programs.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and influencing skills
  • Strong networking skills and ability to work well and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Behavior-based interviewing using behavioral based competency models
  • Ability to utilize and interpret a variety of candidate assessment tools 
  • Solid command of computer platforms and social media
  • Working knowledge of HRIS Systems (recruitment modules), as well as intermediate to advanced level skills in business software programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Strong Project Management skills with the ability to think big picture.
  • Minimal travel up to 25% as needed to support recruitment outreach
